Manufacturing Process

5-Stage
Quality Control

Every Atlas Rollers idler passes five quality checkpoints before despatch. No roller leaves Salem without a signed QC inspection report.

ERW Pipe Incoming Inspection

OD tolerance ±0.2 mm (Ø<133mm), ±0.3 mm (Ø>133mm). Wall thickness ±10%. Every pipe inline eddy current tested for seam integrity before cutting.

EN8 / MS Shaft Machining

Shaft bar CNC turned to ±0.0–0.03 mm tolerance. Cast iron cone machined to spec for cone idler variants. Surface finish Ra 1.6 μm at bearing seats.

CNC Bearing Housing Bore

Bearing housings CNC-bored to +0.00/−0.027 mm fit tolerance. Ensures proper bearing grip, eliminates fretting corrosion from loose housing fit.

Bearing & 5-Part Seal Assembly

62xx/63xx ZZ or RS deep groove ball bearings. All 5 nylon labyrinth seal components fitted. Lithium-based grease packed. End caps fitted and staked.

Final QC — Dimension, Run-out & Ingression

Dial indicator run-out check along full roller length — max 0.5 mm per IS 8598. Water and dust ingression test. Overall dimensional check against drawing.
